Forest Engagement Photos at Carbon Canyon Regional Park
If you like California’s tall trees as much as I do, you’re going to LOVE Hilary & Chase’s engagement session at Carbon Canyon Regional Park!!
The Forest Engagement Session
Now, I don’t live in the part of Cali near the redwoods, sadly. Buuut we do have ONE patch of redwood trees near me, at Carbon Canyon Regional Park on the eastern side of LA! So for Hilary and Chase’s engagement photos, we headed to this redwood grove and got the most beautiful lighting ever.
My fave part of Cali’s tall trees is the sunliiight that shines through them. I mean how could you not find it totally magical??
Style Inspiration
Hilary & Chase started off in darker outfits, with Chase wearing all dark gray and black and Hilary pairing a black shirt with light-wash jeans. I love love the look of darker colors against the Cali sunlight and the green trees – it contrasts so well and these two looked stylish AF!!
To end the session, they changed into outfits that were a lil’ fancier. I always recommend bringing multiple outfits/different looks to your session because you’ll get a ton more variety in your photos!! Hilary had the cutest short white dress with tiny black square patterns, and Chase went from a dark shirt to a light blue collared one. Light blue against green trees always looks so good!
About the Park
If you’re loving this session and want to visit the park for your own photoshoot, here are a few things to know:
- Park hours (fall – winter): 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Park hours (spring – summer): 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Parking fee: $3/vehicle on weekdays, $5/vehicle on weekends
- There are 2 campgrounds if you want to make a camping trip out of it
