Intimate Elopement at Lake Tahoe Basecamp

Kalena and Jon’s intimate elopement at Lake Tahoe Basecamp was a freaking DREAM you guys!!

If you know me, you know I LOVE traveling and adventuring more than anything, and Tahoe is the perfect place to do that. So when I got asked to photograph Kalena and Jon’s elopement at Tahoe Basecamp, I was so ready!!

The Backstory

So fun fact: I actually knew Kalena in high school! We worked at Applebee’s together, and I actually knew Jon, too, but separately. Then, this one time, I saw a photo on Instagram of them together and it was crazy seeing them together since I knew them both individually!

Later on in our lives, I actually filmed Jon’s first wedding! Kalena was married previously, too, and sadly hated her wedding photos. Then, once he and Kalena got together, they found me again on Instagram and asked it would be weird if I photographed their wedding. I said absolutely not!! All Kalena wanted was amazing wedding photos after not loving her previous ones, so I was ready to give those to her!

The Intimate Lake Tahoe Wedding

I was so excited when we finally got to their wedding day. Everything turned out so amazing!

For Kalena and Jon’s first look, we took a gondola ride up to the top and we had the most beautiful sunshine to help us stay warmer in the snow. And the sky was so clear for us to see the mountains!!

They held their ceremony at Tahoe Basecamp, and then moved to South of North Brewing for a small dinner and reception! They gambled for the rest of the night and just had a blast with each other. It was totally my kind of day – everything was chill, relaxed, and all Kalena and Jon wanted to focus on was having a great time with each other!!
