Wedding on the Cliffs of La Jolla, California

Ahhh I can’t believe I got to photograph Brett & Andres’s wedding at the end of 2020!! Getting to capture their big day on the cliffs of La Jolla, California was so freaking special and was one of my favorite days ever.

The Love Story

I went to high school with Brett, and he’s always been one of my best friends. So it totally blows my mind that I got the honor of photographing his big day with Andres. Brett proposed in New York on Christmas, and I just about cried when I found out because I was so over the moon for them both!! Even though I consider Brett one of my closest friends, I had actually never met Andres until their engagement session! (See it here – it’s the cutest engagement session in San Diego!)

These two have been through so much together. They’ve both lost their moms since they’ve been together. So it was really important to include them in their wedding in a special way – you can see the photos of them throughout the gallery below. A crazy thing about their families: Brett & Andres’ parents BOTH got married on the same date, December 18th! So they knew they had to get married on that date in 2020, too. How cool and special is that?!

The Wedding

Brett & Andres were actually originally going to elope in Hawaii, butttt we all know what happened to 2020’s plans. So they ended up tying the knot on the gorgeous cliffs of La Jolla, California, and are going to have a big reception next year! It was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day and I am sooo thankful I got to be there to capture it.

The day was full of emotion from everybody who attended. The setup of the area was absolutely stunning, with boho decorations, flowers, and a gorgeous picnic on the cliffs! We had amazing sunny weather and the greatest sunset lighting to end the evening with a champagne pop. Watching these two get to celebrate with their closest loved ones amidst the craziness of the world was just amazing and I will never ever forget it!!
