Unique Palm Springs Engagement Photos

If you’re looking for ideas for unique Palm Springs engagement photos, this will be great one for ya!!

I wanted to have some fun last fall and do something outside the norm of what I usually do. Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE my weddings and couples sessions more than anything! But I wanted something different to try out, to challenge myself with, and to have fun with.

Sooo I recruited my friends Normandie and Frankie to join me and they were the perfect couple to help me make something fun happen! They’ve been dating forever and hadn’t ever had photos done. Sooo we thought of all sorts of ideas, brainstormed, looked through Pinterest, etc. We eventually landed on having fun in Palm Springs with colored chalk powder!

The Session in Palm Springs

We started in a spot that many people typically go to for photos, by the windmills in Palm Springs to take some regular, fun couples photos. As the sun fell, we found a new spot and started gettin’ messy! It was such a fun new tool for me to play with in my photos and a way to totally spice up a “regular” couples photoshoot. I love playing with props such as prisms and fractals that have to do with manipulating light & creating cool effects, so playing with a prop that used COLOR was new and exciting! (buy your own colored powder here!)

Make your couples or engagement photos unique!

This shoot definitely goes to show that you don’t need to be engaged to take awesome photos with your partner!! And on that note, you don’t have to do the “typical” engagement or couples photos, either. ANYTHING goes! Incorporate something that you and your partner love doing together. Bring your pets, bring your favorite food, drink your favorite drinks (Redbulls and tequila, anyone?). Just get creative with it and it’ll make your photos totally different than any you’ve seen before!
