“We just want you to know how amazing you are. Just got done looking through all the pictures and we are in awe. We can tell this is such a passion for you. Every picture was just so amazing. We love you! Thank you so so much. You did beyond your job you literally are the definition of a professional! I am literally going to save up because I couldn’t picture anyone else photographing our wedding. – Dakota + Stevie
What a fun time with this Red rock and Mt. Charleston engagement! We met at Mt. Charleston and ended at sunset in Red Rock. To get them loose and ready for photos, we had a shot of tequila to start the day off. It was all laughter and fun, and it was great getting to know them more.
After we did some walking photos and getting them use to the camera, we decided to play some music. This helps getting them in the grove and capturing those candid shots everyone loves! We played both, upbeat music, since Stevie enjoyed dancing, and slower music to get more intimate photos.
I always try to have the most variety in engagement photos, so sitting is a great way for that to happen! You can do so many sitting poses, but these two were so fun and game for anything so I had Dakota sit in his lap, showing off those legs!
We spent about 45 minutes at Mt Charleston, then we headed to Red Rock to finish off the session. With Covid 19 going on, the actual park was closed. Not to worry, we pulled off the side of the road and made magic with still getting the views of the mountains!! We started off in the middle of the street. If you know me, you know I will put every couple in the road if I have the chance lol. Which we did at the first location too… How can you not photograph your couple in the middle of the road, with epic mountains as the backdrop?!?
We then moved right over to the open fields, since the sun was perfect.. There were little pathways, Joshua Trees, and of course the beautiful red rocks in the background. These colors out here truly are perfect for photos, and I was in heaven. Not only was this location stunning, but honestly you can have photograph anywhere as long as the couple has fun and you pull their personalities out of them! These guys didn’t hold back, and it made my job so fun!
At the end of the session, I tried something I normally don’t do.. a double exposure! These photos can be so fun, and add something more unique to the photos. I definitely love to experiment and try new things, figuring out what works and what doesn’t. I love photography and how there is endless amount of possibilities!
Who wants to their engagement or elopement in one of these spots! I’d love to hear from you guys and photograph you, contact me and let’s chat!
